Alex Summits Washington (Winter)

On March 10, 2012, nine-year-old Alexandra Herr successfully completed a winter ascent of Mt. Washington.

This was an important hike for many reasons.

I'll post the trip report by Wednesday evening.

Congratulations, Alex! What an accomplishment!!

My partner and I were standing on the summit of Carrigain yesterday, enjoying the beautiful weather and cheering you on--not knowing that you were actually hiking that day but hoping you were. Looking forward to the trip report!

Thanks, Melinda! Hope you had a great time on Carrigain. That's one of Sage's favorite hikes. She loves Signal Ridge and the tower.

Thanks for your support -- I'll post the trip report late tonight.
