Cannon. July 3, 2016

Kinsman Ridge Trail.  4 miles roundtrip with 2100 feet of elevation gain.

The following was written by Sage.

We started at about 6:45am so we could beat the crowds.

Posing for the camera, about to start the hike...

Me hiking up...

There were some bugs, but not that many.

Pretty views!

The picture below is of the view point close to the summit; it is very pretty!

We headed up to the summit...

You can see the summit tower in the distance.

The summit tower; we got there!

Me at the top of the summit tower...

Mom at the top of the summit tower...

 More pretty views...

Yay!  We were at Café 4080! It was empty, unlike the trails when we started to head down, because we were there early in the morning.

Yummy whoopee pie! In this picture, we are splitting a whoopee pie in half with my Swiss Army knife's saw because the whoopee pie was frozen (the café had just opened).

This was a great hike and I look forward to being on Cannon again!

I loved your trip report! For those of us who aren't familiar with many of the things you encounter on your trips like the summit tower for instance, maybe you could include a brief explanation of its purpose. Thanks and keep up the good work!
