Thursday Things: Simple Pleasures, Short and Sweet

We just returned from a two day hike over New Hampshire's southern Presidentials.  The girls and I enjoyed perfect weather and trekked for miles above treeline; the trip report will be posted on Monday (instead of Tuesday).  It was a full couple of days and I am worn out, so this entry will be short and sweet.

As soon as we'd unpacked and cleaned up from our trip, we got to work on item number 51 from our Thursday Things list, "Bake our own bread."  Baking our own bread was something we'd wanted to do for quite some time, and tonight was the night.

It was a straightforward process.  The girls mixed the ingredients and kneaded the dough...

Then we let the dough rise...

Alex formed her portion into a half-loaf while Sage preferred to make rolls...

After some more rising, we baked the dough and ate the bread.

Told you this was going to be short and sweet.

Simple Thursday Things report, I know, but it'll have to do this evening.  I'm tired from hiking and the sandman is doing his best to knock me out.  Both girls are snoozing; it's time for me to follow suit.

G'night, folks.  I've got some exciting news so I'll be back tomorrow morning.
