The Friday Wrap: Book News and a Patch

There's a LOT in the works -- the list below will soon grow much longer.  I'll post media events/reviews/interview links/guest blog posts as they're published/confirmed.

Want to preview Up: A Mother and Daughter's Peakbagging Adventure Read an excerpt here.

Want a chance to win a free copy of Up?  Check out Crown Publishing's Read It Forward giveaway.

The week of March 19, I'll be a guest blogger on CNN's online version of "The Next List."  My post will discuss Hugh's influence on the girls.  Hugh's life and work will be profiled on CNN's televised "The Next List" on Sunday, March 25 at 2pm EST.  He was interviewed by Sanjay Gupta -- tune in and watch!

The April issue of USA Today's outdoor magazine, "Unboundary" (circulation: 100,000) will contain an excerpt from Up.

On April 3, the date Up goes on sale, the girls and I will be guest bloggers on Kindle Nation Daily's Kids Corner.

Later that same day (April 3), the girls and I will be at The Harvard Coop in Harvard Square.  Join us for our first book signing!  We'll give a short presentation and answer questions.  It starts at 7pm -- come on by!

On April 28, the girls and I will give a presentation and hold a book signing event at  Father Roger Bilodeau Community Center, 194 Pollard Road, Lincoln, NH.   This event is being hosted by Steve Smith of The Mountain Wanderer Bookstore and begins at 7pm.

Publishers Weekly gave us a glowing review.

We're currently featured on Mark Stephens' Adventure Parents.

We're still on The Kitchen Sisters' "The Hidden World of Girls" (NPR, originally posted two years ago).

We now have a FABULOUS book trailer:

A bit of news that isn't book related -- we received the finished patches for our original NH hiking list, "The Terrifying 25."

Check out the above link, hike the trails, and send in an application...and this can be yours.  :)

Have a great weekend, everyone.

I just wanted to let you know I finished an "uncorrected proof" copy of "UP" that I received from the Amazon Vine program.

I. LOVED. YOUR. BOOK!

It made me laugh, it made me tear up a little (at your husband's story and the end) and it showed me the kind of mother I hope to one day be.

I'm posting my review on Amazon and Goodreads.com as well. I will also be telling everyone I know about your beautiful book. My only regret is that since I received the "uncorrected proof" it does not have the beautiful cover art that the real copy has. :) Wonderful story and adventure and I look forward to following your blog from now on.

Dee,

Thank you so much -- I'm very glad you liked the book!

I appreciate your willingness to write a review on Amazon and Goodreads -- those reviews are so important! Thanks also for spreading the word to your friends. I am much obliged!

If you're on Facebook, please consider "liking" http://www.facebook.com/PatriciaEllisHerr. It's a very active account and I enjoy the back-and-forth that often occurs there.

Thanks again for your kind compliments,
