The Friday Wrap: Book Signing Events and Adams/Madison

We've two book signing dates to announce:

April 3, 2012: Harvard Coop, 1400 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA at 7pm
April 28, 2012: Father Roger Bilodeau Community Center, 194 Pollard Road, Lincoln, NH at 7pm

The girls and I look forward to these events and hope to see you at one of them.

We've also a blog event to announce:

On April 3, the girls and I will be guest bloggers on Kindle Nation Daily's Kids Corner.

April 3 is the date of our book launch -- between Kindle Nation Daily and the Harvard Coop, we're going to have a fun and busy day!  :)

There will be a lot more book news as the days and weeks go on.  Stay tuned!

Yesterday, Alex and I took advantage of a favorable above-treeline weather forecast and hiked two northern Presidentials, Mt. Adams and Mt. Madison. Normally, these two mountains are tough to summit during the winter due to notoriously cold, windy, and icy conditions.  We lucked out; not only was our day "bluebird," the wind was minimal and the ice was more than manageable.  I'll post a full trip report on Tuesday.  For now, here's a picture of Alex and our friend, Tim C., on the summit of Mt. Adams.  Mt. Washington and Mt. Jefferson are in the background.

Alex and I have four more hikes, seven more mountains to go to finish the winter 4K list before March 20.

Have a great weekend, everyone.

Any signings in Connecticut, Rhode Island, or western Mass.?

Hi Cumulus,

Not at this time. It is unusual for an author to do an extensive book tour, unless the author is already a national celebrity. Multi-location tours are costly and, from what I hear, rarely pay for themselves. The old-fashioned book tour seems to be a thing of the past, as it rarely pays off in terms of sales. Nowadays, there's more of a focus on virtual tours through blogs and social media, as well as, of course, traditional media opportunities (radio, newspapers, TV).
