The Friday Wrap: UP, Sage's 41st 4K, and Alex's Winter Goal

Up: A Mother and Daughter's Peakbagging Adventure

The manuscript has gone through the copyediting process (line by line proofreading). I'm now quadruple-checking the text and approving the placement of the photos (there will be one for each chapter). We should have galleys available for reviewers next month.

Next week I'll have a conference call with my editor, Crown's social media guru, and my publicists. It's time to discuss the marketing strategy. Exciting days ahead!

Sage

The girls and I ascended New Hampshire's Mt. Cabot yesterday (trip report to follow). Sage has now hiked 41 Four Thousand Footers. Only 7 more to go before she beats her sister's record and becomes the second youngest girl to complete the list!

Alex

Alex is looking forward to winter -- she hopes to finish her winter round of the New Hampshire Four Thousand Footer list this coming season. If she does so, then she'll probably become the youngest person to have hiked all 48 of New Hampshire's highest mountains during calendar winters. It must be emphasized, however, that she's doing this because she wants to finish the list sooner rather than later...none of us are bent on breaking records. We'll hike once a week and check off mountains for as long as it continues to feel safe and fun.
